Abrasive Wheels (NTSS Course)

This Abrasive Wheels course will provide you with our in-house NTSS certificate of attendance.

Duration: Half day training on abrasive wheels

Maximum number of delegates: 10

Course Overview:

There are a wide range of tools and processes that use abrasive wheels and ensuring these are used correctly and safely is of paramount importance. Applications range from hand grinding to disc cutting.

To give delegates an understanding of current legislation and be able to demonstrate the safe fitting and use of abrasive wheels types 41, 42 & 27  in compliance with manufacturer’s instructions.

Different wheels will have different properties and characteristics suitable for particular tasks. They also have different weaknesses and can pose different risks and hazards in handling and use. For this reason, it’s important that you always select the right abrasive wheel for the job and use it with the right machinery.

This course covers the anatomy of an abrasive wheel, the dangers associated with their use, Storage and handling and much more. Our interactive video based training course is aimed at all employers and staff to assist them in identifying the danger that incorrect use of Abrasive Wheels poses.

NTSS Training Courses

Training and testing for our NTSS courses is based around the NPORS structure.  All our instructors are either NPORS or CPCS accredited and the training offered is up to the same standard.  These courses/certifications are ideal for employees who require adequate training to ensure they can safely operate plant but don’t require a more recognized certification or where a CPCS or NPORS certification doesn’t exist.

Who should attend?

Users of angle grinders (fitted with cutting or grinding wheels), cut-off saws or bench top cut-off saws.

Certification: Delegates successfully completing the course will receive a NTSS  Certificate of Attendance.  Certificates will be sent to the company or individual who has booked and paid for the course upon full payment of the successfully completed course.
